5th Annual YCC College Confrence

The 5th annual YCC college conference took place on July 9th at the Chinese Bible Church, and was highly successful, pulling in around 200 audience members. The audience came to witness a panel of ten highly successful students talk about their thoughts on college and the college application process, with the panelists detailing their high school strategy and efforts. Mentioned details include the extracurriculars done, tips on the essay, and general college and high school advice. Within these 10 panelists were Michael Ai, Tracy Chen, and Ashley Peng, who all had different degrees of involvement in the YCC group. They divulged the impact of YCC and leadership on their lives and applications. The success was a collaboration between many people, including student organizers like William Mao and Jacob Zhong, volunteers from YCC, and parent efforts backing the event. After the conference, YCC members discussed future events that will take place this summer, and started planning for next year. Also, Angela Liu and Jenni Hong from the YCC website staff gave a short PowerPoint presentation talking about the website’s progress and things that still need to be done.
